Terms of Service
Last updated: April 21, 2026
These Terms govern your use of ReportForge (the npm package pdf-report-forge, the license server at reportforge.org, and the dashboard). By installing the package or signing in, you agree to them. This is a plain-language summary followed by the binding text — both matter. If any clause conflicts with applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction, the law wins.
Plain-language summary
- A paid subscription is required to generate PDFs. Start with a 7-day free trial — card required, no charge until day 8.
- The subscription covers all three templates on up to 25 active machines in any rolling 30-day window.
- Don't resell, sublicense, or try to crack the licensing.
- We can terminate access for abuse or non-payment; you can cancel any time.
- Refunds: full refund within 14 days of first paid charge, see the Refund Policy.
1. Definitions
"ReportForge", "we", "us": the operator of the service at reportforge.org. "Reporter": the npm package pdf-report-forge. "Service": the reporter, the license API, the dashboard, and email communications. "You", "your": the individual or organization using the Service. "Subscription": a paid plan billed monthly or yearly via Razorpay.
2. License grant
Subject to these Terms and an active paid Subscription, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run the Reporter in your continuous-integration environment and on your developer workstations.
The Subscription permits use of all three templates (minimal, detailed, executive) on up to 25 active machines within any rolling 30-day window. "Active machine" is defined by a stable fingerprint of the execution environment (for CI: provider:repo; for dev: hostname:mac). Machines that have not reported in 30 days are pruned automatically. Without an active Subscription (or during a 7-day trial), the Reporter does not generate PDFs.
The Reporter source is MIT-licensed on npm. The paid license covers the licensing service that activates it and ongoing maintenance, not ownership of the code itself. The MIT terms continue to govern the source; these Terms govern the Service.
3. Your account
We use Clerk to handle authentication. You are responsible for the credentials you sign up with and for activity under your account. Notify us at support@reportforge.org if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Subscription, billing, and trial
Subscriptions are offered at ₹999/month or ₹8,499/year (INR). The 7-day free trial requires a card upfront; no charge until day 8. Billing is handled by Razorpay; we do not see or store full card numbers. Pricing is exclusive of applicable taxes.
You may cancel at any time from the billing page in the dashboard. The Subscription remains active through the end of the current billing period, after which the Reporter stops generating PDFs until you restart the Subscription. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass the license verification system or the machine-fingerprint cap.
- Resell, sublicense, or share license keys outside your organization.
- Use the Service to generate reports for illegal content, or in a manner that violates third-party rights.
- Abuse the license API (rate limits, brute-force, etc.).
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of this section without refund for the current billing period.
6. Data and privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: we collect what is needed to issue licenses, send transactional email, and enforce the machine cap — email, Razorpay customer ID, hashed machine fingerprints, and JWT issuance logs.
7. Intellectual property
The Reporter code is MIT-licensed (see LICENSE in the repository). The ReportForge name, logo, and this website are our property. Nothing here transfers ownership of either.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, revenue, data, or opportunity.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email to the address on your account at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after that effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or if we cease offering the Service with at least 60 days of prior notice.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ReportForge is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your residence provides otherwise.
